Congress general secretary (eastern Uttar Pradesh) Priyanka Gandhi has made an appeal to the youth, women and every section of society in Uttar Pradesh to join her in realising a new brand of politics though a recorded phone call to approx 30 lakh people in the state.

Thirty lakh phone calls have also been made with a recorded message from Jyotiraditya Scindia, the general secretary in charge of western Uttar Pradesh. While calls with message from Priyanka were made to numbers in eastern part of the state, those with Scindia’s message were made to constituents in the western districts.

The calls were made all through Sunday, ahead of Priyanka’s three-day visit to the state starting on Monday. Congress President Rahul Gandhi will accompany Priyanka to Lucknow.

Priyanka, along with Rahul and Scindia, is slated to address a press conference in the state capital Lucknow tomorrow, during the first day of her maiden visit to the state as party’s general secretary.

“I will be visiting Lucknow tomorrow. I hope that we all can come together and begin a new way of doing politics,” says Priyanka in the recorded message.

“Be it the youth, women or the most vulnerable person, every person should be a stakeholder in politics. Everyone’s voice should count in the decision-making process,” she says.
