Airing one’s views isn’t necessarily appreciated in the ruling party. And on the list of those who may have to pay the price for not having remained silent is Bihari Babu Shatrughan Sinha. His continuous attack on the PM and his close ministerial colleagues has not gone done well with the powers that be. And his pound of flesh will be his Patna Sahib seat. BJP top brass is keen to give the seat to the son of businessman and Rajya Sabha member RK Sinha, Rituraj Sinha in 2019. Dynasty much? Sinha Sr is the founder of the security solutions group SIS and has been associated with the RSS for long. His Hindustan Samachar Agency is known to promote saffron views. Leeds-educated Sinha Jr, who heads SIS now, had provided tech support for the Modi’s election yatra in Bihar.

Kapil Dev, Khattar and the kamal

Former ace all-rounder Kapil Dev might be the new cricketer in the lotus party soon. If the buzz is anything to go by, the party has been missing its popular outspoken cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu, and has been scouting for an alternative. They were hoping for a face which might appeal to youngsters, but Kapil Dev seems to be the only choice. Rumour mills were abuzz with the news that BJP top brass has already met Kapil Dev once in this regard. But, the entry isn’t going to be smooth. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has already resisted his entry. Khattar’s lobby doesn’t want another popular face from Haryana in the party. They believe that Dev, who belongs to the Jat community, can pose a challenge to Khattar. BJP doesn’t want to lose Khattar or Kapil. The top brass is hoping to make both Khattar and Dev worth with each other. Will they? Won’t they?

No space for sense and sensibility

Ministry of Science & Technology, Harsh Vardhan is definitely a lonely man. Since the PM Narendra Modi does not like him, no one likes him. It does not pay to be a decent man these days. Everyone in the saffron parivar seems to be against him. RSS activists recently trolled him when he tweeted in support of Green Diwali just after the Supreme Court had banned the sale of crackers in the Capital. The hindutva troll army did not appreciate the ‘sensible’ stand the doctor took. The vehement attack left the doctor reeling. He eventually had to delete his tweet within five hours.

Delhi cops on the trail of Tiwari’s phone

Can BJP MP Manoj Tiwari save the party in Delhi if he can’t even take care of his phone is the word on the ground. The BJP Delhi President recently lost his iPhone 7 plus at a rally organised in Ramlila Maidan. Tiwari’s phone was stolen while he was approaching the dais through the crowd. Now the police is trying to establish whether the thief was a swadeshi karyakarta or professional one from old Delhi? This led leaders from the anti-Tiwari camp to pass snide remarks about the incident to reporters.
