Saying that the Congress party does not need an alliance with its arch rival Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in order to defeat BJP in Delhi, former Transport Minister in Sheila Dixit government, Haroon Yusuf said Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is capable enough to fight its electoral battle on its own.

Accusing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for creating hype over his work, Yusuf alleged that Kejriwal government has spent whooping amount of ₹611 crore on advertisement and promotion in Delhi.

When asked about his opinion on much-hyped initiatives taken by Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia to uplift the condition of government schools, Yusuf said, barring a few schools, most of the government schools in Delhi lack basic facilities such as toilets for girls.
