With their latest song, “52 gaj ka daman”, all set to release on August 11, singers Asees Kaur and Renuka Panwar are excited to share it with the world. The song is a Hindi rendition of the Haryanvi hit song that goes by the same name.

Asees Kaur says that this song was special for her, because it was one of the first Indian songs to cross the billion views mark within ten months, and because it brought her in touch with her Haryanvi roots. The Hindi remake has retained the hook line, but it’s going to be a global hit with a Haryanvi tadka, she says.

Kaur says that it was a delight to work with Panwar, the original singer for the number. “This is the first time I’ve collaborated with an emerging regional artist, and it was an amazing experience,” says she.

Panwar reciprocates Kaur’s emotion. She says that Kaur treated her like a younger sister, and collaborating with her was ten times more fun than she had imagined.

Panwar adds that shooting the song was an experience in itself. It started off as an experiment for her, but the end result was way better than her expectations. Though the song was recorded virtually, the video was shot in Mumbai and Panwar had the time of her life.

The 19-year old says that they’ve given their 100% to the song, and she hopes that the fans give it as much love as they gave the original song, and more.

“Whenever the song plays, I feel like dancing on it,” smiles Panwar.

The song will release on ii music.
