Union Minister and RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha sat on a day-long fast here in Bihar's Aurangabad district on Saturday, December 8, to protest against the JDU-ledstate government's delay in allotting land for a Kendriya Vidyalaya.

"I have repeatedly requested the state government to allot land for a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Devkund but the government is sitting on the matter. This has exposed the state government's lack of seriousness towards education," said Kushwaha, adding that the central government had given its approval for setting up the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Devkund.

Kushwaha will also sit on a day-long fast in Nawada district on Sunday to protest against the inordinate delay in allotting land for a Kendriya Vidyalaya there.

He slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for doing politics in the name of education.
It is significant to note that Kushwaha is angry for not giving RLSP a preference in seat sharing in the NDA for Lok Sabha elections. To solve this issue, he has also tried to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, but has not been given time for the meeting . The speculations of him leaving NDA subsequently have also increased, about which he will decide on Monday December 10, after meeting the Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
