MP: BJP MLA Dilip Shekhawat greeted with a garland of shoes during campaign

In an embarrassment to the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh, a BJP candidate and MLA Dilip Shekhawat was welcomed with a garland of shoes in Nagada constituency in Khachrod, MP on Monday, November 19. The incident took place when the leader was campaigning during a ‘Jansampark’ (connecting with the people), when suddenly a man appeared with a garland of shoes.

Even before the leader could realise something, the man (who was wearing a BJP cap) had already put the shoe garland on the leader, leaving the leader shell-shocked.

Interestingly, the leader is the MLA from the constituency and was contesting again from the constituency where he was campaigning since morning. After the incident the supporters of the leader started beating up the unidentified whose motive for the act also remain unknown
