A clip from a debate show ‘Takkar’ broadcast by Aaj Tak has gone viral on social media. The video shows a young man slamming Prime Minster Narendra Modi and his Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign.

Taking the steam out of the campaign, the youth addressing a BJP spokesperson on the stage, can be heard saying that, “At one time you tell the youth to sell pakodas, and at others you talk about Chowkidar. We can get a Chowkidar from Nepal. But the country needs an effective Prime Minister, not a Chowkidar.”

Referring to an old tweet put out by the Prime Minister, the youth sharply attacked Modi for his frequent rant that the country did not achieve anything in last seventy years.

“The Prime Minister said that India was a country of snake charmers before 2014… But when the Prime Minister was born, India had established the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. And when he was playing gilli-danda as a young boy, India had already built the Bhakra Nangal dam.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign has been inviting some stinging barbs from the Opposition with several leaders attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying who would save the country if Chowkidars are like him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Saturday released a video on social media, saying, “Your Chowkidar is standing firm and serving the nation”. The video featured a song with lyrics showcasing the Modi government's initiatives.
