Titled ‘Ek Bharat, Berozgaar Bharat’ (One India, Jobless India), with ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ as the tagline, the Congress released a parody manifesto of what it called ‘Bharatiya Jumla Party’ (BJP) carrying the election symbol of ‘Lotus’ turned upside down.

The ‘manifesto’ promises appointment as chowkidars (watchmen) to jobless youth, dissemination of news through Whatsapp besides demonetisation every two years, a compulsory course on ‘feku-isms’ (bluffing) and a 15-day grace period for loan defaulters to leave India.

The Bharatiya Jumla Party, in its manifesto, promised appointment of spokespersons to “dismiss concerns of citizens and pass the blame on Nehru”.

The manifesto offers “dictatorship over democracy”, “hopeless jobless youth”, “oppression of minorities” and “hate- and fear-driven society”, as its poll promises.

In the spoof manifesto, the Congress has taken a jibe at BJP’s promises of employment, fighting corruption, Make in India initiative, education and health, media regulations and information dissemination and demonetisation.

The manifesto announced that all defence contracts will be awarded to AA which stands for Anil Ambani. A 15 day notice will be given to loan defaulters to enable them fly off to country of their choice.

On demonetisation, the manifesto promised that old currency notes will be banned every two years and replaced with notes in attractive colours. Mocking BJP’s employment promise, the manifesto said the ruling party aims to break the 70-year record in employment after having achieved the “historic 45-year high”.
