India forfeit fifth and final Test against England in Manchester amid COVID-19 concerns. The fifth test match was scheduled to be held on Friday, September 10. When another member of the support staff of Indian team tested positive for COVID-19, there arose uncertainty about the fifth test. However, people expected that the match will take place because all the team members had tested negative for the infection. But the cricket boards decided otherwise after discussions.

"Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test between England and India Men due to start today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be cancelled," ECB said in a media statement.

In the five-match series, India were leading with 2-1.
