As more senior women journalists continue sharing their harrowing stories of sexual harassment at the hands of then editor MJ Akbar, currently the Minister of State (MoS) External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to remain mum.

Modi’s silence has been called out on social media and in public, with many recounting Modi’s flagship campaign ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhaao’ (Save and educate the girl child) besides his rhetoric on women-safety issues.

Even though Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi had demanded a probe into allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Akbar, the Prime Minister is yet to react on the sensitive issue.

This article will be updated as and when the Prime Minister makes a statement over the serious allegations against his minister.
