A Twitter trend #ModiMatBanao gained momentum on April Fool’s Day, Monday. The trend used by twitterati highlighted the unfulfilled promises made by the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

Soon, the Congress also took to Twitter using the hashtag and wrote, "Black money is still missing, Nirav Modi has still not been brought to justice and the youth are still looking for jobs. The only thing Indians have left to say to our PM - #ModiMatBanao"

Congress also released a spoof manifesto for the BJP's 2019 election campaign. It focused on issues such as unemployment, demonetisation and corruption among many other things in a bid to slam PM Modi.

Soon many other Twitter users started using the hashtag along with #AprilFools, highlighting their problems and spoofing the BJP and PM Modi.
