Seems like Kolkata's newly-wed Sneha Singhi truly believes in the famous words of Kathrine Hepburn that “If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.”

Well, we are saying this because Sneha on her wedding day ditched the traditional vidayi ceremony.

The girl broke the stereotype vidaai ritual, and instead of sitting in the back seat of the car with the groom she herself drove the car and left for her new home that is her husband's house.

Sneha is a chef by profession and runs a café in the city.

She tied the knot last Month and on the day of her wedding she surprised everyone when she got into the driving seat of the car.

At first, people who were present there tried to help her with the flowy, heavy lehenga to get behind the wheels

Then, Sneha sped away to her in-law’s house, grinning and waving at everyone, as she abandoned one of the age-old traditions of Indian marriages.

the bride recently shared the video on her social media handle and wrote “This really was fun!”

Talking about the same she said, “Saugat (my husband) and I have been together for 8 years. On our first date, I drove him back home even though he had his own chauffeur driven car. I just thought it would be great if I could do that on our wedding too."

she also revealed that she had discussed this kind of vidai ceremony a month ahead with her mother and would-be husband but, it completely slipped her mind in all the wedding frenzy on the D-day. However, when her husband reminded her, she was more than delighted to drive the car as that’s exactly how she wanted to complete her wedding.

sneha said, “Everyone was obviously taken aback. Mostly, people were worried how I’m going to fit in the car with the 12kg lehenga! People kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to do it. I knew I was!”

She also revealed her father-in-law was worried how she would get in the car with the heavy lehenga and asked her friends to help.

The video has gone viral with over 3.2 million views and has been getting lots of positive feedback from netizens.
