The Indian Army is all set to introduce a light and more climate-friendly combat uniform for the jawans from next year. On the occasion of Army Day the modified uniform was unveiled during the Army Day parade.

The new combat uniform is developed with the help of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) choosing from among 15 patterns, eight designs and four fabrics.

Reportedly, the new uniform has been finalised after wide-ranging discussions and analysis of military uniforms of several countries

The new camouflage uniform is based on a ‘digital disruptive’ pattern and comes in 13 sizes that will protect the soldiers against harsh climatic conditions so that they can feel comfortable in summers and winters as well.

The fabric of the new combat uniform is lightweight which would dry quickly and provide more convenience to the security personnel during the operations.
