Kanta Prasad, the owner of the small eatery 'Baba ka Dhaba' that was recently in the limelight on social media, on Monday opened a new restaurant in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area. The new restaurant has also been named ‘Baba ka Dhaba'.

The 80-year-old Dhaba owner who shot to fame in October after a video showing him sharing his woes following the loss of his business due to the Covid-19 pandemic went viral on social media.

It all started after a food blogger Gaurav Wasan shared a video on his Instagram account. The video quickly went viral on several platforms, with netizens requesting everyone to eat food from the stall or donate some money to help the elderly man. In less than 24 hours, the video went massively viral and scores of people showed up to Baba Ka Dhaba to eat food.

Now, nearly after 2 months, Prasad, his wife, Badami Devi, and their son, Azad Hind, inaugurated their new restaurant in Malviya Nagar a few hundred metres from their roadside eatery that the couple ran for decades.

Sharing the details of his new restaurant, Prasad informed that they will be serving both Indian and Chinese cuisines.

“We're very happy, God has blessed us. I want to thank people for their help. I appeal to them to visit my restaurant. We will serve Indian & Chinese cuisine here,” Prasad told media persons during the inauguration of his restaurant.

Prasad also informed me that his new Dhaba has everything from furniture to staff. He has also installed CCTV cameras in his new restaurant. The kitchen in this new restaurant is also very big.

Prasad also shared: “Although only my wife and I will cook the food, for assistance we have also employed a helper.”

Prasad's new restaurant is a little walk away from his old eatery shop and he says he will continue to run his Dhaba too.
