A British bank has become the first big-scale company in the United Kingdom which has adopted a four-day work and 3 day off in a week policy for its workers. Moreover, the Britain bank will not make any cuts in the payments of its employees.

Apparently the aim behind the organisation's latest policy is to support the mental and physical well-being of the employees and increase their productivity.

According to the sources the bank called Atom Bank, has decided to reduce the number of working hours per week from 37.5 to 34 for all its 430 employees. Which means that the employees can take either Monday or Friday off but the working hours will be slightly longer.

Notably, the new policy of the organisation is voluntary but most of the workers have already opted for the four-day working week.

Talking about the same, Mark Mullen the CEO of the bank stated,

“A four-day week will provide our employees with more opportunities to pursue their passions, spend time with their families, and build a healthier work/life balance.”

The CEO also believes that people will take time to adjust to the change, but will not drop their efficiency. He also hopes it will help attract talent at time when staff attrition at the bank is "unusually" high due to the pandemic.
