Congress will launch "Save Democracy-Save Constitution" Campaign along with the nationwide protests against the BJP's unconstitutional ways. As a prelude to the campaign, party started an online campaign named #SpeakUpforDemocracy on Sunday morning,  Congress leaders lashed out at the BJP for its unconstitutional attempt to unsettle the elected government in Rajasthan.

'Congress is all set to launch nationwide protests against anti-democratic and anti-constitutional actions perpetrated by BJP' from Monday. Prior to this, Congress organisesd a nationwide online campaign, “Speak Up for Democracy”, that started on Sunday 10 am onwards.

Congress accused the BJP of misusing the Governor’s office to destabilize the elected government.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal lashed out at the Centre accusing it horse-trading and trying to topple democratically elected governments saying it has become the norm.

“What is all the more deplorable is that, at a time when the entire country is reeling under the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and severe economic and financial difficulties, the BJP is going all out to unsettle elected governments,” he said.He further accused the BJP of misusing the Governor’s office to destabilize the elected governments.


“As we saw in Rajasthan, the Governor is refusing to call a session of the legislative assembly, despite the constitutionally binding and mandatory advice of the Chief Minister and his council of ministers,” said Venugopal.

Congress has also said that the  Governors, instead of protecting the constitution, are acting in a blatantly partisan manner that facilitates political horse-trading in the states.

Rahul Gandhi also slammed the BJP government for attempts to topple the Rajasthan Government, Rahul Gandhi called it an insult of eight crore people of Rajasthan who elected the government.The Congress will hold protests in front of different Raj Bhavans all over the country on Monday and all the party leaders, MPs, MLAs and other functionaries have been instructed to share videos and posts on different social media platforms to highlight the issue.The online campaign #Speak Up for Democracy" launched by the party brought out thousands of voices against the BJP's unconstitutional and undemocratic ways. Congress has announced to keep its struggle on to protect the Democracy and Constitution of the country.
