The COVID-19 scenario in Indore, the biggest hotspot of Madhya Pradesh is getting scarier by the day.

Indore becomes COVID-19 epicentre as cases soar from 427 to 842 in 2 days

MP now has third-highest number of positive cases in India after Maharashtra

In addition, Indore reported eight deaths on Thursday, taking the toll to 47

This is second-highest number of deaths from COVID-19 among cities of the country behind Mumbai (117 deaths).

In 23 days, the positive cases in Indore have jumped 200 times with just 4 cases on 25 March

Due to inadequate testing facilities, samples are being sent to Delhi with shocking figures coming in.

The surge in cases and deaths in Indore has also spiked the tally of Madhya Pradesh as a whole sharply

The state now has more than 1,300 positive cases, the third-highest in the country after Maharashtra and Delhi.

The death toll in MP on Friday was at 63, only behind Maharashtra with 194 deaths

The scarier part is that the MP figures are out of only 10,000 odd tests as on April 16.

Health activists are apprehensive that numbers in MP might show huge increase ...

...when the number of tests go up to the level of other states.

"The testing rate in Madhya Pradesh is very low with 130 tests per million ...
