COVID-19 cases in India now rising at a never before high rate, with single day spike jumping to 57,000 . The total number of coronavirus patients will soon touch the 18 lakh mark but the government is still praising itself for the low death rate due to coronavirus

India has recorded its worst ever single-day spike of over 57,100 coronavirus cases, taking its tally to 1,701,307. The country's death toll now stands at 36,562.

With coronavirus cases rising at a record speed , several states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Mizoram have extended their lockdown till August 31. Some others like Uttar Pradesh have imposed weekend lockdowns to curb corona cases.In the wake of festivals like Bakrid and Raksha Bandhan, there is no lockdown this weekend in Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand.

Andhra Pradesh has again reported record over 10,376 coronavirus cases — it's third straight daily addition of over 10,000 cases — taking its aggregate to 140,935.


Worldometer has reported record 282,095 new cases worldwide in the past 24 hours. As many as 17,778,276 people around the world have been diagnosed with Covid-19. While 6,82,196 have died so far.The high-level Group of Ministers (GOM) on Covid-19 has agreed to the health ministry's proposal to allow the export of indigenously made ventilators.Centre decided to allow export of indigenous ventilators as Covid-19 fatality rate falls to 2.15 %.  Coronavirus cases in UP are spiking high, forty-seven more people died due to Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, while 3,807 people tested positive for the disease.The infection tally has now climbed to 89,068 and the death toll reached 1,677.

Delhi reported 1,118 new #COVID19 cases, 1,201 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 26 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases rise to 1,36,716 and 3,989 deaths.
Despite the spike crossing 57,000, The government is lauding itself by claiming that Case Fatality Rate stands at 2.15% on Friday, lowest since the 1st lockdown. India has reached on the fifth rank in the world in terms of fatalities by Coronvirus.The single day spike gets scary and the economy continues to sink but the government still seems to be busy in other agenda.
