According to sources, an FIR has been filed against the makers of The Kapil Sharma Show over an episode in which the show’s cast was shown drinking alcohol while performing a courtroom scene.

The complainant has accused the producers and host of the comedy show of disrespecting the court.

Apparently, The case was filed by a lawyer Suresh Dhakad, in a Madhya Pradesh Sessions court, who claimed that the episode with the “objectionable scenes” was aired on Sony TV on April 21.

Reportedly, the case has been registered against the show’s anchor Kapil Sharma and Sony TV Director MP Singh under the IT Act and Excise Act.

The lawyer said, “The Kapil Sharma Show that is being aired on Sony TV is sloppy. They also make lewd comments on women. In one of the episodes, a court was set up on the stage and the actors were seen drinking alcohol in public. This is contempt of court. That's why I have demanded registration of FIR against the culprits under Section 356/3 in the court. Such display of sloppiness should be stopped.”

The case will reportedly be heard on October 1.

The Kapil Sharma Show is hosted by Kapil Sharma and stars Sumona Chakravarti, Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri and Archana Singh.
