18-year-old Guinness World Records holder Nilanshi Patel, who broke her own record for having the longest hair, cut off her long tresses after 12 years.

Reportedly, her hair length was 6 ft 6.7 inches before she decided to say goodbye to her long hair.

Recently, Nilanshi Patel posted a video of her getting a haircut on her social media handle where she can be seen giving a goodbye kiss to her long tresses and as soon as she posted the video netizens were surprised and curious to know what made the Guinness World Records holder cut her hair.

This was the first haircut of Nilanshi in 12 years. Her most recent record was in July 2020.

According to a blog post by Guinness World Records, Nilanshi decided to grow and groom her hair after a bad experience at a hair salon.

She said "I got my hair cut, a really bad haircut. So, then I decided that I won't cut my hair. I decided that when I was six and have not cut it since."

Apparently, when she decided to cut her hair she was faced with three options-- auction it, donate it to charity for cancer patients, or donate it to a museum.

And she decided to donate her hair to a museum. She informed on her social media handle that her long and shiny Rapunzel hair will remain in the USA's 'believe it or not museum' forever.
