India's only female Paracyclist Tanya Daga made India proud after she scripted history by pedalling 3800 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 43 days. The one-legged wonder girl from Madhya Pradesh brought more laurels for India as she battled her pain and personal loss, in the form of her father's passing away mid-way, to complete the epic journey.

Nine other para-athletes rode with Tanya for the Infinity Ride 2020 organized by Aditya Mehta Foundation to raise funds and support para-athletes. Tanya is the only female para-cyclist in the group to complete such a demanding ride starting from the North to the Southern tip of India.

When Tanya reached Bangalore, she got the new of her father’s demise. After attending her father’s funeral, Tanya returned to Bangalore and resumed the ride from the point where she had left.


Tanya Daga’s entry in Para-Sports

It was in 2018 when Tanya, who had been to Dehradun for her MBA studies met with a car accident and lost one leg. After six months of treatment, she got connected to Aditya Mehta Foundation and took upcycling.

Hailed as superwoman on social media

Soon after Tanya Daga enter her name on the record books for completing a ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and became the first female para-cyclist in India to do so, social media sites especially Twitter got flooded with congratulatory messages.

One Twitter user wrote: “Salute to her will power and strength! Stay blessed and keep rocking Ms. Tanya Daga! You are an inspiration truly.”


Another user wrote: “India's only female para-cyclist Tanya Daga completed a distance of 2800KM from Jammu Kashmir to Kanyakumari with her bicycle in just 42 days. When the courage to do something is stronger than the rock, then the mountains of difficulty also fly like straw.”

Undeniably, Tanya Daga is a woman with a strong character full of resilience and infinite abilities.
