An elephant ran amok and damaged the venue and four cars at a wedding ceremony in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj division after getting agitated over the noise of firecrackers. A short video of the terrifying incident has now gone viral on social media.

On the night of June 11, the wedding party of Anand Tripathi, the groom, reached Amlapur from Naryanpur village with an elephant.

However, the elephant got irked by the sound of crackers and damaged two cars, a few bikes and uprooted pandals. The incident created panic at the venue. Many people, including the groom, ran to save their lives.

A short video shared on Twitter shows a man trying to free a horse from a carriage that was just a few feet away from the elephant.

Towards the end, the elephant can be seen toppling a vehicle as guests run in all directions to save themselves.

The jumbo was eventually brought under control by the mahout. Following the incident, the concerned forest ranger was intimated and requested to take appropriate action.
