Actor Manoj Bajpayee has filed a criminal defamation complaint against self-styled critic Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK in Indore court for a derogatory tweet against him. The Family Man actor filed a criminal defamation charge under IPC Section 500 (punishment for defamation) against Kamaal Rashid Khan in an Indore court on August 24.

According to Manoj Bajpayee’s lawyer, the actor personally appeared before the court to record his statement. “He had filed the criminal complaint in the court of judicial magistrate first class against KRK under IPC section 500 (punishment for defamation). He also urged the court to register a criminal defamation case in the matter,” Manoj Bajpayee’s lawyer Paresh S Joshi said in a press release.

The tweet in question was made by KRK on July 26 and, according to Manoj Bajpayee’s lawyer, it defamed the 52-year-old actor and ruined his reputation among fans.

Calling Bajpayee 'Ganjedi' (a marijuana addict), KRK said that he doesn't watch web series

This is not the first time that KRK is facing backlash from Bollywood actors. A few months ago Bollywood superstar Salman Khan filed a defamation complaint against him. On social media, Kamaal Khan has been vocal about his thoughts on the court battle. Salman launched a defamation suit against KRK after the premiere of his latest film Radhe.

When KRK said that it was because he had criticized the film in a terse review, Salman’s legal team said that he had personally attacked Salman in his tweets, namely the star’s humanitarian efforts.
