At least 52 people were killed and over 50 others injured in a massive fire that broke out at a six-storey juice factory outside Bangladesh's capital Dhaka. The fire broke out at around 5pm on Thursday at the Shezan juice factory in Naryanganj's Rupganj and was still raging almost 24 hours later, the media reports claimed.

According to the reports, Emergency services were battling to put out the fire on the fifth

and sixth floors. Firefighters using ropes rescued 25 people from the roof of the factory that made noodles, fruit juices and candy.

It is suspected that the fire originated from the ground floor of the building and spread quickly due to the presence of chemicals and plastic bottles. Eighteen firefighting units were struggling to douse the fire at the factory building of Hashem Foods Limited.
