When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in America to attend meetings with US President Joe Biden, the Quad members and also address the United Nations General Assembly, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi mocked at the PM, tweeting “Mr 56” is scared of China”.

Rahul Gandhi took to his twitter handle to share video with several media reports of Chinese incursion in eastern Ladakh with the caption "Mr 56” is scared of China".

Rahul Gandhi's tweet comes amid ongoing India and China border dispute in eastern Ladakh and the ongoing military and diplomatic talks to resolve it.

After several rounds of intense military and diplomatic talks, India and China withdrew troops from several friction points. However, New Delhi and Beijing are yet to complete the disengagement at the Depsang plains. Both the nuclear-powered countries are expected to meet soon and sort the issue.

China has been rapidly building military infrastructure at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and also deployed heavy military equipment near the border with India.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held back-to-back meetings with five top CEOs in the United States in his first major foreign visit since the Covid-19 pandemic. These were followed by Modi’s crucial meetings with US President Joe Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison and his Japanese counterpart Yoshihide Suga.
