Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday got emotional while remembering people who died of COVID-19 during his interaction with frontline workers such as doctors, nurses and paramedical staff of Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency.

The effect of the pandemic has been so vast that despite all efforts, numerous lives were lost, the Prime Minister said in a voice choked with emotion. In addition, PM Modi also expressed his condolences to the people who succumbed to Coronavirus.

Soon after PM Modi completed his emotional address, social media users took to their respective handles to share their opinion on PM Modi’s interaction. One of the Twitter user declared PM Modi as the ‘best actor’ and demanded an Oscar for him.


Meanwhile, India reported 2,59,551 new Covid-19 cases and 4,209 deaths on Thursday. Tamil Nadu contributed the highest number of fresh cases, 35,571 , to the country’s daily caseload, while the second highest contributor was Kerala with 30,491 new cases.
