With India witnessing another record single-day rise of 2,73,810 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, netizens were furious and started demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resign. #ResignModi was among the trending Hashtags on Twitter as Netizens were holding PM Modi accountable for disastrous handling of the second wave of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, addressing a rally in Bengal, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that the Prime Minister is responsible for the "skyrocketing" of covid-19 cases in the country and therefore "he must resign.”


Television actor Nakul Mehta also took to the micro-blogging platform and narrated a hard-hitting poem dedicated to the current situation


Meanwhile, India has reported yet another record spike of 2,73,810 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking India's total count to over 1.50 crore. Apart from the over 2.73 lakh fresh cases, India has also recorded 1,619 deaths and 1,44,178 discharges in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.
