Phone hacked while working on how Facebook, WhatsApp are used for propaganda, says Paranjoy Guha Thakurta

In an exclusive interview with National Herald, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta shares that the Pegasus spyware leak reveals that his phone was hacked when he was working on how Facebook and whatsApp were being used for propaganda purposes. The other story was on late Dhirubhai Ambani's foreign assets.

The Israeli company NSO has asserted that they only work for governments. Guhathakurta wondered if that was true which government agency would have hired a private company for surveillance on journalists, lawyers and activists. The matter should thoroughly investigated by a parliamentary committee, he said.
