Take care of yourself as Govt busy with sales, says Rahul Gandhi

Taking a dig at the Government’s asset monetisation pipeline plan, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi urged people to protect themselves against the coronavirus pandemic amidst a recent surge, as the government is “busy in sales”

Rahul Gandhi has been accusing the BJP government of selling out the country's assets built in the last 70 years, after it announced its asset monetisation pipeline plan.

Congress leader took to his Twitter handle to target the Central Government for taking Covid-19 pandemic lightly. He wrote: "Rising COVID numbers are worrying. Vaccination must pick up pace to avoid serious outcomes in the next wave."

"Please take care of yourselves because GOI is busy with sales," Rahul Gandhi added in his tweet.

Meanwhile, India reported 46,164 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours ending on Thursday at 8 AM, taking the overall caseload to 3.25 crore (3,25,58,530). Meanwhile, the death toll increased to 4.36 lakh (4,36,365), with 607 fresh fatalities.


Kerala on Wednesday reported 31,445 fresh Covid-19, with the test positivity rate touching 19 per cent now. This is the first time that the state has reported more than 30,000 fresh cases since May 20 this year.

After the Onam festivities, medical experts had predicted that the TPR would go beyond 20 per cent. Since July 27, Kerala has been logging more than or close to 20,000 cases almost every day.
