*Star footballer Lionel Messi joins French giants Paris Saint-Germain

Lionel Messi, the Argentine footballer, who recently bid a tearful goodbye to Nou Camp, where he spent 21 years of his life, has joined French giants Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal following his departure from FC Barcelona. The 34-year-old footballer also has the option of a third year. The exact details of Messi's financial terms were not declared but it is believed that he will reportedly be earning $41 million per year. Messi had expressed his desire to leave Barcelona last year, but during a tearful press conference he had said that things had changed in the last one year and he was keen to continue with the club. However, given the financial debt the Catalan club was in, Barcelona had to let Messi go even though the 34-year-old had agreed to slash his fee by 50 percent.

*Raj Kundra to stay in Jail as court rejects bail plea

Businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra's jail time has been extended after the sessions court deferred his bail hearing till August 20. He has been in custody since July 19 over charges of the production and uploading of pornographic content. His extended 14-day judicial custody ended on Tuesday Aug 10, however, the court deferred the hearing after the crime branch reportedly listed out 19 reasons to oppose it. Reportedly, the crime branch told the court that Kundra was not cooperating in the case.

Apparently, cops said that a lot of evidence was yet to be collected while alleging that many more witnesses and victims were coming forward to record their testimony. Opposing the bail, cops tell court that Raj Kundra may try to escape if granted bail and Raj Kundra is an influential person, he may 'tamper with evidence' and 'influence the witnesses'. They also pointed out that since he is a British citizen, they couldn't rule out the possibility of him fleeing the country.


*The return of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' / Big B completes 21 years as host of KBC

Amitabh Bachchan is back on the small screen with the 13th season of his popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. As the show is all set to air from August 23, the host of the show, megastar Amitabh Bachchan is happy to be back. Big b took to Instagram and posted a picture of him sitting in the host seat and expressed his gratitude to everyone who's been associated with the show's journey since 2000.

He wrote : "... back .. on that chair from 2000 .. that's 21 years .. a lifetime .. !!.and gratitude to all that came along," Big B captioned the post.

For the unversed, Big B started hosting the show in 2000, and since then he has been a constant part of the show except for one season. In 2006, Shah Rukh Khan replaced Big B as a host for the third season of the show. However, SRK failed to impress the audience with his hosting skills on the game show.
