MP farmer sets his own garlic produce on fire after not getting a fair price

A video of a farmer shouting ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ and setting his garlic produce on fire has gone viral on Social Media.

Apparently the farmer was extremely frustrated for not getting a fair price for his Garlic produce and took the harsh step .

Reportedly he invested Rs 2.5 lakhs in garlic production and got only Rs 1 lakh. He stated, ''We do not want any bonus from the government, just the right price for our crop.”

The video is from Mandsaur Krishi Upaj Mandi which is near Bhopal. However, there was no further damage at the wholesale market as the staff at the mandi and other farmers doused the flames promptly.

Meanwhile no case has been registered against the farmer, but he was questioned by the local police in connection with the incident
