Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the NDA government in Bihar over a woman allegedly burnt alive and accused the Nitish Kumar dispensation of "hiding" the incident for "electoral gains".

Rahul Gandhi took to his official Twitter handle to target the newly formed government in Bihar. Congress leader shared a media report which claimed that the incident of burning alive a young woman in Vaishali was kept under wraps as elections were on. According to the report, the woman died after fighting for life at a hospital for 15 days.

Along with the report, Rahul Gandhi wrote: "Whose crime is more dangerous? Who did this inhuman act or the one who hid it for electoral gains so as to lay the foundation of his false 'good governance' over this 'misrule'?"

The media report shared by Rahul Gandhi also claimed that the woman was being harassed by a man from her village who, along with his friends, allegedly burnt her alive.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took a jibe at Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in as chief minister of Bihar for the seventh time on 16 November.

In a tweet from his official Twitter handle, Yadav wrote: “Greetings to respected Nitish Kumar Ji for being the ‘nominated’ chief Minister. I hope he makes his priority positive issues such as aspirations of the people of Bihar, the NDA’s promise of 19 lakh jobs — employment, education, health, livelihood, irrigation, and justice, rather than his ambition for the chair.”
