Reality Bites: Crony-virus-- CMs must  donate to BJP for grants!

Since BJP is so very generous to its donors, why are they not paying states GST arrears and compensation? Should non-BJP CMs make “donations” to BJP too to get their dues --has it come to that?

The crony-virus is rising and spinning out of control as rapidly as the Coronavirus in India. Apart from fat cats in big business that get first dibs at every money-making opportunity (their reward for keeping the BJP in power), skinny alley cats benefit too.

You don’t need to make a huge investment to get rich quick, even in this lousy economic climate. You just need to know where to invest your money to get assured returns. The top three investment choices in India today are the following:

1. BJP
2. BJP
3. BJP

Ready to bite the bullet? Then sell your wedding ring (you cannot get sentimental when times are hard and your underwear is in tatters) and donate the proceeds to the BJP. You could get as lucky as DKP and “win” a tender for “miscellaneous work” on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. All it cost him was a donation of Rs. 2.5 lakh to the BJP in FY 2017-18.

KRS, another contractor who donated Rs 2 lakh to the BJP in FY 2012-13, was given a tender for “construction of various service building”. The vagueness is delicious, isn’t it?

If you have more money to donate like CCEL (it lovingly gave Rs 55 lakh to the BJP between FY 2012-13 and 2017-18), you get tenders for many more projects including ISRO, ONGC and BSF. These are just three out of the four wily Gujaratbased investors named by the media. For more details on this fascinating subject, go to Google.

Tell me, since BJP is so very generous to its donors, why are they not paying the states GST arrears and compensation? Should non-BJP chief ministers make “donations” to the BJP too to get their dues—has it come to that?

Most MPs from non-NDA states have complained about the lack of funds from the Centre, despite Modi’s fat PM Cares piggy bank. BJD leader Pinaki Mishra is, as always, an exception: He roars like a lion on TV for funds, but is as servile as a lamb in Parliament. I could recommend several online courses in assertiveness to him, but why bother? His weirdness makes me giggle, besides.

What makes me cry is the BJP’s callousness over everything, including the migrant crisis—one that they created with the harsh, no-notice national lockdown. This is yet another foolish thing they are extremely proud of, and frequently lie that the lockdown prevented up to 78,000 deaths and 29 lakh cases. The numbers are from their secret Ministry of Fudge who probably get their inspiration, energy and motivation from the same source as kanwariyas.

When questioned in Parliament about the numbers of migrants who died on the long walk home, and whether compensation was paid to their families, the BJP said it kept no records. The Ministry of Fudge is not remotely interested in collating data that makes them look bad.

The BJP also claims it has no data on the number of healthcare workers who died during the pandemic so yep, no compensation for their families either. The Indian Medical Association, which usually waves sparkly pom poms and defends the BJP in a belligerent vocal-local manner finally took a stand and accused the government of “indifference”, “abdication” and “abandonment of heroes”. They made a statement in which they declared that till then 382 doctors had died of Covid-19, and went on to say that, “It appears that they are dispensable. No nation has lost as many doctors and health care workers like India.”

But none of this matters. Not even the killing of 20 Indian soldiers by Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on 15th June. Or the fact that on 19th June, the very same day PM Modi stated that there had been no intrusions on either side, his government took a hefty loan from a Beijing-based bank. No wonder Modi refuses to utter the word “China”—President Xi may object and even worse, ask for all that lovely money back.

Not that mainstream media cares. The only thing they’re reporting right now are vicious tweets from an actress who insists she’s special because she’s acted in patriotic films.

Oddly enough, I don’t recall her being draped in yards of khadi and singing “Mere Desh Ki Dharti” in ‘Fashion’.
Do you?
