Tell us about the show.

The shooting of the webseries will start soon. The name of the show is Made for Each Other. It is an interesting story of a young couple staying in live in relationship and shows how they get separated and then again reunite after a particular situation. It’s like a roller coaster ride for them and a complete graph of relationship. It’s very realistic in terms of emotion, conversation and situation. It’s a series of 7 episode. I’m playing the lead character of boyfriend who works in a call centre. They have differences and how they overcome these differences is very interesting. It’s rom com and a sweet story. I’m very excited and waiting for the shoot to start. It will be for a leading OTT platform. Hope people will like it.

With whom do you wish to work with in Bollywood and why?

There are many actors who are very talented, hardworking and passionate. Actors like Alia Bhat and Tabu are amazing. Sridevi is my favourite actor, I always wanted to work with her though unfortunately it’s not possible now. Also actors like Taapsee Pannu and Kareena Kapoor. Though I’ve worked with Kareena twice- once in an advertisement and once in a movie Good Newwz- I would love to work with her again. Male actors like Shahid Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan always inspire me. When it comes to directors there is a long list obviously. I would love to work with Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Neeraj Pandey, Vishal Bhardwaj , Hansal Mehta, Aditya Chopra...and the list goes on. I would love to work for a film which has a good story, director, good team, good co-actors.

Who is your favorite director and why?

It’s really tough to pick one because there are so many talented people in our industry. But I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkumar Hirani, Hansal Mehta and Anurag Kashyap. All these directors are the finest and my favourites. The reason is the way they execute the script. Like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, besides being a good director has an excellent sense of music. Rajkumar Hirani’s films always touch our hearts, Hansal Mehta makes such realistic movies. So all of these directors are outstanding. Therefore, it is quite difficult for me to choose any one from them.

What is your dream role?

Honestly speaking I have no dream role. I’m from theatre where I’ve worked for 2 years. I know that every character has a journey and a story. So if it’s any character that casts an impact on the story, and has an essence of uniqueness which will be remembered forever, I would love to do that role. I’ll make that role my dream role and work hard and honestly for its execution. But yes I always wanted to perform the role of a pilot since my younger days because I admire them a lot .

Who is your inspiration?

My inspiration is not a particular person so won’t be able to take any one name because I learn from everyone around me. I believe one can learn anything from their environment and the people around them if they want to. Thus I always try to take inspiration and learn things from my environment because when you purpose and dreams are big enough it’s necessary to keep yourself motivated and inspired all the time.

With the advent of OTT do you feel there’s plethora of work for new comers now?

Yes, I completely agree that ever since OTT platform have arrived the amount of content created has increased a lot, quality wise too. Therefore lots of talented artists get many opportunities to demonstrate their talent and to fulfill their passion. And for new comers it’s a golden period because I feel unlike commercial films, even if you are a new face, if the film or series is good then it will definitely work on OTT. But in cinema,  they need a known face to attract masses generally. So yes, its a great boon for all the talented people.

How are you spending this lockdown period and dealing with covid and the negativity everywhere?

I’m trying to use my time productively and efficiently in this lockdown and not leisurely waste time. I have observed that if we don’t do the job on time then we get frustrated later. But if I focus on my work then I just get away from negativity. I’m sharpening my skills by watching good cinema and reading a lot of scripts and completing the pending work is my craft. Also I exercise a lot and follow a healthy diet and lifestyle. Last month my family got infected with covid so it was a huge challenge for all of us, but by god’s grace we all are fine and healthy now. There is a lot happening around during these times, so it’s very difficult for everyone. I pray that everyone who are infected get proper treatment and basic facilities available. I hope that everyone gets vaccinated as soon as possible so that we can resume our work and the world can go back to normal.
