Students protesting against Citizenship Act outside UP Bhawan detained; students allege lathicharge by police

Some students were detained outside the Uttar Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday when they were protesting against the police's action during anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act demonstrations in the state. Students alleged that they have assaulted by Delhi police.

“We have been brutally assaulted by Delhi police and picked up from UP Bhawan.We are only 4 women protestors inside the bus. We don't know where they are taking us,” tweeted Kawalpreet Kaur.

They were demanding the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the issue.
