In a welcome relief to the people of Rajasthan amid a global pandemic, Congress-led Rajasthan government recently announced that it will provide mediclaim scheme worth Rs 5 lakh for each family of the state, under its ambitious universal health insurance coverage scheme. According to the media reports, familes can get registered under the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme to avail the benefits.

With the start of the registration of people under the scheme, announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the state budget 2021-22, Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to provide health insurance to all its residents.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also took to his official Twitter handle to share the news with the residents. In a series of tweet, CM Gehlot wrote: “#Rajasthan has become the first state in the country, where each family will get a health insurance of Rs. 5 lakh each year. People can get registered and be assured of cashless treatment.”

In another tweet he wrote: “Registrations for Rajasthan Govt’s cashless treatment for all – Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana have begun in the state from today. It is one of our biggest health care schemes aimed at providing medical relief to all residents of #Rajasthan.”

Here's How To Avail The Insurance Scheme

Citizens of Rajasthan can log on to health.rajasthan.gov.in to get enrolled for the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme. All information regarding the insurance scheme is available on the portal. Every family can avail the scheme by paying a premium of Rs 850 annually.

As per the announcement made by Rajasthan government, citizens can register themselves online between April 1 to April 10 to avail the scheme. Beneficiaries will start getting benefits of the scheme from May 1, 2021. For more details, one can also call 1800-180-6127.
