After Air India tragedy, is IndiGo also jinxed? 4 incidents in 3 days
Today, a Madurai-bound flight hit a mid-air snag and had to turn back

A Madurai-bound IndiGo flight suffered a technical snag mid-air on Friday, 20 June, and returned to Chennai.
The pilot detected the issue after flying for about half an hour, and then sought permission to fly back and land in Chennai.
The plane, carrying about 68 passengers, landed safely and the passengers were deplaned from IndiGo flight 6E7167.
They are being accommodated in other flights.
Yesterday, 19 June, had also seen two IndiGo aircraft develop technical issues.
The Leh-bound IndiGo flight 6E2006 from Delhi, an A320 craft, returned to the national capital due to a technical issue on Thursday morning after being airborne for over two hours, per information on the flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
"IndiGo flight 6E 2006 operating from Delhi to Leh on 19 June 2025 returned to origin due to a technical issue which caused operational restrictions to land in Leh. As per procedures, the pilot returned back to Delhi," an airline spokesperson said in a statement.
The spokesperson also said the aircraft is undergoing necessary maintenance before resuming operations.
An alternative aircraft was arranged to fly the customers to Leh. There were approximately 180 people on board, passengers and crew together.
The same day, a flight from Bhubaneswar saw an aborted takeoff. Flight 6E 6101 to Kolkata took a bird hit while still on the runway.
The day before that, on Wednesday, 18 June, a Delhi–Raipur IndiGo flight flew and landed just fine — only to find its door stuck for 40 minutes on arrival.
Among the passengers on flight 6E-6313 were former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur mayor Meenal Choubey.
Choubey told PTI over the phone that after landing in Raipur around 2:20 p.m., the door of the flight remained locked for more than 30 minutes.
"When we asked about the reason for the delay in opening the door, the crew said there was some technical problem, and they were trying to open it.
"After 30 minutes, we asked them to seek assistance from the people outside. Then the people on the ground opened the door," she said.
These were all technical issues with the aircraft — unlike the Nagpur flight of 17 June, that rerouted and landed amidst a bomb scare. But we aren't counting those.
