Anti CAA protest: Sikh man who sold his flat to support protesters named in Delhi police officer killing

During the nationwide Anti-CAA protest in India, DR Bindra, the Sikh man who came into spotlight for selling his flat to support protesters in Shaheen Bagh has been reportedly named in the charge-sheet filed by Delhi Police in the killing of police officer Ratan Lal during communal violence in Delhi, a report in Karvaan India said.

According to the report, OPIndia, a right-wing Hindutva website claimed to have the document which shows the name of DR Bindra included in the list of co conspirators involved in the police officer’s murder.

In a conversation with Karvaan India, Bindra refused knowing the charges but he confirmed that he had been called by Delhi Police for enquiry.

“I do not know about the charges, and we will be able to comment on it in a day or so, but I have been summoned for inquiry owing for my presence in Shaheen Bagh protests,” Bindram told Karvaan India.

Bindra has been named as a conspirator along with 4-5 other conspirators, which includes Salim Khan, Salim Munna and Shadab in this case.

“The charge sheet said beat officers were regularly deployed in the area of the protest to ensure that no law and order situation arose. After the murder of Ratan Lal, two-beat officers were also questioned, and their statements recorded to ascertain facts. They revealed that Salim Khan, Salim Munna, D.S. Bindra, Suleman Siddiqui, Ayub, Athar, Shahdab, Upasna, Ravishand others were organizers of the protest site,” the report in OpIndia said.

DR Bindra was an active participant of the Anti-CAA protest at Shaheen Bagh. He also ran a langar there to feed the protesters.
