Castigating the Prime Minister Modi for politicising the issue of Pulwama terror attack and the subsquent Balakot air strike, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader DP Tripathi said Modi made a mockery of the patriotic commitment of armed forces.

Addressing a presser in Delhi, the senior leader said Modi not only politicised the issue in order to gain political dividends, but he also used un-parliamentary language for the entire opposition which a PM should never do.

“It was common understanding that counter terrorist operation would not be politicised. But unfortunately, our Prime Minister Modi, his government and BJP leadership have started politicising the issue. I must say that by doing so, they have insulted and made a mockery of the patriotic commitment of our armed forces. Modi leveled baseless allegations against all Opposition parties in his rallies across the country and used extremely foul and indecent language, which no PM has ever used,” pointed out Tripathi.

Tripathi also sought answer from the Modi government as to how Pakistan sponsored and trained terrorists succeeded in evasion and breach of security

While Tripathi praised “valour and patriotism” of the armed forces, he came down heavily on BJP national president Amit Shah. Criticising Shah for making unsubstantiated claims regarding the number of terrorists killed in the Balakot strike, veteran NCP leader said Modi government is weakening the nation by polarising the society.

“Perhaps, he (Amit Shah) is endowed with special powers of a nocturnal bird to see in the dark. I think this is highly condemnable. The contradictory statements made by the different sections of the Central Government led by Modi demonstrates utter confusion in their minds. They are hell-bent upon dividing the Indian society and weakening our great nation.”

Tripathi also sought an answer from the Modi government as to how Pakistan sponsored and trained terrorists succeeded in evading security. He also appealed to the people of the nation to question the government in power.
