Congress Seva Dal volunteers hold massive protest rally against Modi govt’s policies

Thousands of volunteers participated in the 7 km rally from Congress office till the Rajiv Memorial at Veer Bhumi, where they gave a guard of honour to the late former PM on his birth anniversary

Congress Seva Dal volunteers held a massive protest against the Central government policies ‘to destroy democracy in India’ on Friday.

“Ever since BJP has taken the power in the Center since 2014, there has been series of misrule against welfare of the common people. There has been significant constraint on democratic institutions such as judiciary, press, autonomous educational institutions and executive. This biased administration and intervention in these democratic institutions has posed a threat to democracy in India,” a press released issued by it said.

“On 20th August 2021, birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Congress Seva Dal took out a massive Tiranga march with a protest rally against the anti-people policies of Central government. The protest rally was led by Congress Seva Dal Chief Organiser Lalji Desai. This rally, ‘Loktantra Bachao Tiranga March’ was flagged off by K.C Venugopal, AICC General Secretary Organization. Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC General Secretary and Chairman Communication, Anil Choudhury, President, DPCC, Sunil Kumar, Chief Organiser Delhi Pradesh Congress Seva Dal, Rajesh Lilotia, Ex-Secretary AICC were present at the flag off ceremony,” it added.

“Thousands of Congress Seva Dal volunteers who had travelled from various parts of the country participated in the 7 km rally. The rally march was organized from Congress Office at 24 Akbar Road till the Rajiv Memorial at Veerbhumi. The rally concluded at Veer Bhumi with all the Congress Seva Dal volunteers giving Guard of Honour to the late Ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Along the march, Congress Seva Dal volunteers protested against the anti-people polices of the Central government and urged people to raise their voice against the fascist nature of the central government,” it added.
