Some yrs ago I noticed there was attempt to attack India's farmers. It started in Bhatta Parsaul when their land was just being taken away. I realised it was a problem & I started a conversation inside Congress party. Result of that was a new Land Acquisition Bill: Rahul Gandhi.
We threw out the old British Bill & brought out a brand new Bill that guaranteed compensation & protection to our farmers...The first thing Narendra Modi ji did when he became PM was trying to kill this Bill. We fought him in Parliament & stopped him from killing it: Rahul Gandhi

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday tweeted: “Yesterday at midnight, he tried to end the peasant movement with sticks. Today, farmers are being threatened on Ghazipur, Singhu border. This is contrary to every rule of democracy. The Congress will stand in this struggle with the farmers.”
“Farmers are the interest of the country. Those who want to break them- they are traitors. Strict action should be taken against violent elements, but with the farmers who have been struggling peacefully for months, the entire power of the people of the country stands with them,” she added.

Rakesh Tikait declared nobody will court arrest and Police have no power to vacate farmers protesting peacefully.
Around 50 RSS activists staged demonstrations against farmers' struggle at the same time.
AIKS leader and CPM MP KK Ragesh declared farmers will not step back under the pressure of RSS and UP Police.
Police officers and DM were forced to leave the protest site.

The Bharatiya Kisan Union (Lok Shakti) on Thursday announced it was ending its protest against the new central farm laws.
BKU (Lok Shakti) chief Sheoraj Singh made the announcement during a press conference here, a day after two other farmers' union ended their stir.

Two men were killed while three were injured after their car crashed into an electric pole smashing the vehicle under its weight in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district on Thursday.
"Around 7.30 a.m., the hatchback they were travelling in, hit a cement electric pole, which broke into two near the base and crashed straight onto the car," a police official told IANS.
The car's bonnet and roof were damaged while Satish, who was driving the car got stuck in his seat.
