Two persons were killed and 15 others rescued from debris of two buildings that crashed in the city and its suburbs on Thursday afternoon, the BMC Disaster Cell said. A few others could also be trapped, it added.
In the first case, two persons were killed and 13 others were dug out of debris of a three-storied tenement that crashed due to heavy rains at Malvani in Malad West.
Four-five persons are feared to be trapped there. The Mumbai Fire Brigade and disaster teams are trying to rescue them.

Retail giant Walmart has made it mandatory for its customers across the US to wear face coverings starting July 20.

At least 493 people have tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir in the highest single day surge of COVID-19 cases so far in the Union Territory, officials said.
A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department said of 493 tested positive on Wednesday, 57 are from Jammu division while 436 are from Kashmir division as the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 11,666 in J&K.

The district administration of Gurugram has decided not to change the status of large COVID-19 outbreak regions in the city till July 28, an official said. Complete lockdown would be applied in these affected areas and residents will be allowed to step outside their homes only for essential services.
Amit Khatri, District Magistrate (DM) Gurugram has confirmed the development after a review meeting with Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM), civil surgeon, and police on Wednesday.
"Under this, the provision of complete lockdown is applied in declared areas and residents will be allowed to step outside their respective homes only for essential services," Khatri said.
The large outbreak areas have been identified as ward number 4 Dundehera, ward number 16 Arjun Nager Jyoti Park, Madanpuri, Ward number 17 Ratan garden and Shiv Puri, Ward number 20 Shivaji Nagar and Shanti Nagar, Ward number 21 Baldev Nagar, Fero Gandhi Colony, Ravi Nagar, Ward number 22 Hira Nagar, Gandhi Nagar Shivaji Park, Ward number 23 Hari Nagar Shakti Park and Ward number 35 DLF phase 3 Nathupur.

The overall number of global COVID-19 cases has topped 13.5 million mark, while the deaths have increased to more than 583,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
As of Thursday morning, the total number of cases stood at 13,070,097, while the fatalities rose to 583,359, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.
The US accounted for the world's highest number of infections and fatalities at 3,495,536 and 137,358, respectively, according to the CSSE.
Brazil came in the second place with 1,966,748 infections and 75,366 deaths.
In terms of cases, India ranks third (936,181), and is followed by Russia (745,197), Peru (337,751), Chile (317,657), Mexico (317,635), South Africa (311,049), the UK (293,469), Iran (264,561), Spain (257,494), Pakistan (255,769), Italy (243,506), Saudi Arabia (240,474), Turkey (215,940), France (210,568), Germany (200,890), Bangladesh (193,590), Colombia (159,898), Argentina (111,146), Canada (110,693) and Qatar (104,983), the CSSE figures showed.
The other countries with over 10,000 deaths are the UK (45,138), Mexico (36,906), Italy (34,997), France (30,123), Spain (28,413), India (24,309), Iran (13,410), Peru (12,417) and Russia (11,753).
