Soon after the Bharatiya Janata Party withdrew its support from the BJP-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, senior JK People’s Democratic Party leader and spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir said that the timing of the pull out was surprising.

Talking to National Herald at his official residence in Srinagar, Mir said that though there were some issues between the coalition partners right from the day one, he said that PDP did not see any immediate reasons for ending the alliance.

We do not understand why they pulled the plug. Right now there were no obvious reasons" Mir said.

He said that PDP-BJP was not on the same page on a string of issues and, in the process of time,  the difference had bottled up.

"We had differences on the special Article 35 A, Ramzan cease fire and many other issues. These differences piled up over the years, finally spurring BJP to end the alliance" Mir said.

Mir said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has sent her resignation to Governor NN Vohra. J&K is now under Governor’s Rule.
