#SheInspiresUs: Twitterati reminds Modi of Shaheen Bagh women, Jashodaben, Radhika Vemula, Fatima Nafees

Many netizens asked PM Modi to hand over his social media accounts to the women of Shaheen Bagh, while some asked him to give it to missing JNU student Najeeb’s mother and Rohit Vemula’s mother

Dramatically promoting his government’s Women’s Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that he will be handing over his social media accounts to women who inspire and urged people to share stories of such women with him using the hashtag #SheInspiresUs.

Though with this gimmick, the prime minister and the hashtag used by him managed to remain the top trending topics on Twitter, many of the users touched upon some sensitive cases with women as their centre. The netizens did not hesitate in reminding PM Modi of Shaheen bagh women, his wife, Jashodaben, Radhika Vemula, mother of the Dalit student Rohith Vemula who committed suicide, Fatima Nafees, the mother of the missing JNU student Najeeb and Ehsan Jafri’s wife Zakia Jafri along with many other women still struggling for justice for their loved ones.

"This Women's Day, I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions.

"Are you such a woman or do you know such inspiring women? Share such stories using #SheInspiresUs," PM Modi tweeted.
