Twitterati did some fact-checking when PM Modi at a book release function said that he had first met former PM Chandra Shekhar in 1977 at Delhi airport and came up with some eye-opening facts.

On July 24, PM Modi released a book on the former prime minister Chandra Shekhar in the Parliament auditorium. While speaking on the occasion, he recalled that he first met the former prime minister Chandra Shekhar in 1977. “I met him at Delhi airport, I was travelling with Bhairon Singh Shekhawat Ji. The two leaders enjoyed a close bond despite their different political ideologies.”

"I had gone to Nagpur to organise a programme for Atal ji and Advani ji. Chandra Shekhar ji used to regard Atalji as a guru and was eager to share the information (about his resignation) with guru ji. However, on that day, Atal ji's flight reached late in Nagpur. By the time Chandra Shekhar ji called, Atal ji had not reached the venue, so I had to finally took the call. Chandra Shekhar ji then told me to inform about Atal ji about the decision," recalled Modi about an interesting episode of how Chandra Shekhar's resignation news first reached him.
