Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to fly in MiG-21 Bison at Tuesday's Air Force Day 2019 flypast along with three Mirage 2000s flown by IAF pilots who flew during the Balakot strike missions.

Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating 87th anniversary on Air Force Day 2019 at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and IAF Chief, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria present at the event.

Abhinandan will fly MiG Bison Aircraft over at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. 3 Mirage 2000 aircraft & 2 Su-30MKI fighter aircraft will fly in ‘Avenger formation’.Planes are being flown by pilots who took part in Balakot air strike.

Meanwhile, Air Force Chief on Tuesday said, Indian Air Force is grateful for nation's trust&confidence in us & the support provided. On behalf of all air warriors, I assure the nation of our sacred resolve, defending the sovereignty of our skies&safeguarding our national interest at all cost.
