With elections over, petrol price hiked, diesel remains unchanged

With the Assembly elections over, the government has increased the petrol prices on Thursday by a maximum of 30 paise per litre. In Delhi, it was up by 9 paise at ₹70.29 and Mumbai it rose to ₹75.91

With the Assembly elections over, the government has increased the petrol prices on Thursday, December 13. It rose between 9 and 30 paise per litre. In the national capital Delhi, petrol is priced at ₹70.29 per litre, up 9 paise compared to Wednesday’s price of ₹70.20. In Mumbai, petrol price rose by 11 paise per litre to ₹75.91 as against ₹75.80 on Wednesday.

However, diesel prices remained unchanged in both the metros. In Delhi, it was retailing at ₹67.66 and in Mumbai ₹67.66.

In Noida, both petrol and diesel prices rose by 28 paise and 19 paise respectively to ₹70.18 and ₹63.97 respectively. In Noida, Greater Noida and Gaziabad prices keep varying.

In Chennai, petrol price increased by 12 paise to ₹72.94 as against ₹72.82 on Wednesday but diesel price remains unchanged at ₹68.26.

However, in Kolkata, petrol price fell by 90 paise per litre to ₹72.38 and diesel price fell by ₹1 per litre to ₹66.40. It may be noted that on Wednesday, December 12, both petrol and diesel prices rose by nearly ₹1 per litre despite prices remaining same in most other cities.

International oil prices rose on Thursday, buoyed by a drawdown in US crude inventories and signs that China is taking more concrete steps to put a trade war truce with Washington into action. International Brent crude oil futures were at $60.46 per barrel at 0213 GMT, up 31 cents, or 0.52 per cent, from their last close.
