Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has asked party leader Jitin Prasada to visit Sitapur and meet freedom fighter Shiv Narain Sharma, who was reportedly insulted by the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the Sitapur district Hospital a few days ago.

According to Sharma, the CMS misbehaved with him when he had gone to the hospital for treatment.

"It's highly condemnable that in the Yogi government the 95-year-old freedom fighter is denied treatment and insulted. What else you can hope from this government," Prasada said.

The Congress is taking up the issue strongly and has asked workers to meet the freedom fighter and his family. The issue has taken centre stage with many social organisations protesting and some people going on the fast in protest.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi had written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding justice for a girl who was found dead in her hostel room. The girl's family has expressed unhappiness with the police probe.
