An early morning bike ride in the snow turned fatal for two militants in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday morning.

Both of them were shifted to a nearby hospital at Warpora. They were later shifted to a Srinagar hospital where they succumbed to the injuries, a local news agency GNS reported.

“One among the two killed persons is Owais Ahmad Mir, a local from Brath, Sopore whereas the identity of other person is being ascertained,” SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh was quoted as saying. “Owais joined the militancy recently and was missing since last fortnight.”

Again, quoting the official sources, the news wire added that the other person is also believed to be a militant and is reportedly a foreigner.
