Be vigilant, President Mukherjee urged the media, intellectual class and the citizens of the country, in a cryptic message against recent spate of mob lynchings

National Herald launched its commemorative edition and the beta website at a high-profile event in New Delhi on Saturday. President Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest at the launch event, which was also attended by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh among other prominent persons.

Speaking at the launch, President Mukherjee urged the media, the intellectual class and the citizens in general to be “vigilant” to keep the dark forces from taking over.

“Media’s vigilance, intellectuals’ vigilance and citizen’s vigilance are the most potent force against the forces of darkness,” President Mukherjee said.
